Its a good decision to get your Pool Compliance Certificate. Check the NSW Government website https://www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw.gov.au/inspections for a list of authorised pool certifers in your area.

Building professionals came together in our area to discuss issues effecting not only our practices but the timley delay of approvals for the constituants of the community. There are some great reforms in the pipeline in regards to complying development and a robust discussion regarding education and training was had. Thanks to Tweed Shire Council and the Building Professionals Board for organising this much needed discussion.

Most projects requiring building works in NSW have two options for obtaining approvals. The first option is to apply to your local council. The second option is to call a private certifier. Private Certification is a growing service, encouraged by the NSW government as a way to ease congestion and aviod major delays during the approval process for building projects across the state. Compliance, sale and lease provisions
Changes to the Swimming Pools Act 1992 will take full effect from 29 April 2016, affecting swimming pool compliance and property transactions.
New 'certificate of non-compliance'
From 29 April 2016, properties sold with a pool must have a relevant occupation certificate, certificate of compliance, or a certificate of non-compliance.
The certificate of non-compliance is a new option for vendors, and will give the new owner 90 days to make the pool compliant. Like a certificate of compliance, it will be generated from the Swimming Pools Register.
